Hi
I have been interested in getting hold of a reprap mendel for a while now and, have been considering the options (i.e. to buy a complete kit, or to purchase all individual printable parts + electronics + vitamins etc)
Though I’m aware that buying a complete kit through a retailer should be more costly than buying individual parts, I have come across this site.
I am still a newbie, but I would like to get a general opinion from people, on whether this is a decent deal for a complete kit - if it is, I’d much rather just pay for this kit than to spend a great dealmore time gathering parts:

it says v1.4 but I don;t know if it’s a mendel i3 or greater - anyone help guide me here? thanks
Go to ebay and you’ll do better
Thanks for the tip @Thomas_Ellison would you also say that it would be worthwhile (and easily manageable) to buy each seperate part from eBay too?
I’m sorry for silly questions but I am fairly new to this (in terms of ease of acquiring parts) but I understand fully, the principle of putting these things together
Sometimes I think hmm I could save money by just buying all the parts from eBay etc… But then the lazy part of me kicks in and thinks well, could just save the time and buy the whole damned thing.
So essentially, if aquiring all the necessary parts isn’t as daunting as it first seems them I’ll be inclined to do that. At least the printed parts can be bought all in one package right
You should be able to get parts in batches. To build the frame you need a set of threaded/smooth rods which will co e cut to size, printed parts, and hardware.(nuts, screws, zip ties, drive belts). After that’s handled get electronics which is ramps 1.4, mega arduino equivalent,(I’ve had good luck with Sain store), limit switches, motors, thermistors, heaters, power supply. Last choose a hot end, a few choices out there. You’ll find its far less parts than it seems just grouping the rods and printed parts together. Getting the electronics from eBay will probably save the most though. I got an arduino compatible mega2560 for under $20 and free shipping from Spain either eBay or their website and it worked great.
