Hi here we are testing an anti backslash system for DIY CNCs https://github.com/kreitek/cnc/blob/master/backslash/backslash3.png

How does it work?

First try today and unfortunately not too good at the moment, it is difficult to find the right spot which creates the proper pressure between the 2 nuts but does not creates too mush strain on the axis.

Have you considered adding an ‘O’ ring to provide that give?

I believe a number of people use springs a second nut and an enclosure for the two nuts.

yes the original idea was to use spring but how reliable is this system? We thought we could use two screws making pressure onto each other… but doesn t seem to work too good. I also though twe could try just using a single threaded barrel, it seems like it makes a snugger fit than a single nut and also ensure it stays parallel to the axis

@Simone_Marin the reliability of the spring method depends on tge strength of the spring. ThT Lzo affecfs the traction. I do not have an anti-backlash nut in use myself. It is all information that I gathered from online.

Simone, they are quite reliable and simple to make. Adding these is an easy way to increase the consistency of your milling. Here is a link to a simple design:
