hi guys, Im trying to connect my chinese diode laser to laserweb3 on OSX.

hi guys,

Im trying to connect my chinese diode laser to laserweb3 on OSX. I followed all the steps on windows first and that seem to be working, but now when using osx i cant seem to select the right usb port… did some searches but couldn’t find any similar issues. Has someone got any ideas? thanks a bunch!

Twan van Dijk

it gives me these options on selecting a usb port.

OSX tends to show all ports, soteh first 2 are very common, the last one seems like a speaker? Or could it be your laser

The nano on my laser doesn’t have a good OS X driver for the serial chip (at least one I was willing to install on my machine). If you can get the Arduino IDE to recognize it then you should be OK…if you can’t then you need a driver.

You can look for a CH341 Serial driver on google. But I don’t like installing root required kernel extensions from unknown sources…

many thanks for your fast responses! Peter your advice did the trick! i’ve still got some issues getting the laser to burn (i seem to have a slightly different version than yordi’s workshop has) and the scaling is of, when shifting 10mm it actually shifts 30mm.

i feel a bit stupid asking these n00b questions but i’m very happy with the support!

it seems that ive got the eleks mana se board

i noticed yordi shifted a jumper on his controller board, but i didn’t find a jumper like his on my board.

As +Peter van der Walt said, there is a fully signed legit driver for that USB chip. I use it all the time.

Is there a link for the fully signed legit driver?

I’m sorry for posting it on the wrong page Peter, i’m heading over there! thanks for your help and patience

@Richard_Vowles - thanks - I’ll give this one a shot on my mac (one of the 3-4 computers on my normal desktop). +Peter van der Walt - LW4 is rocking. I may just start using it for all my Gcode generation. The ability to store machines and materials are awesome. Much more intuitive to use than LW3.
