HI all I have a question I use cut 2d for making gcode on my shapeoko3. When it starts the cut it first sends a cod to go up on the z. when I cut thicker material and it send that z code the stepper moves up and skips because it goes to far. Is there a way to limit that on my shapeoko using cut 2d?

I haven’t used cut 2d before but I think the parameter that determines this is called clearance.

@Nick_Charlton thanks that is a big help!

@SonicStrikeFPV no problem! I actually have a question, where do you get your carbon fiber stock from?

@Nick_Charlton
xccomposites

I had an issue when I first started, the clearance high was too high and the ShapeOko hit the metal stops at the top of the movement. It lost it’s position and started cutting too deep (e.g it thought it went up 10mm, but only went up 5mm). It was a simple software tweak.
