Hey guys. So since im still waiting on my 3D printer i decided to order something off of thingiverse. Adafruit’s 500mA lipo battery holder. And i just clicked on buy which redirected me to 3D hubs. I selected the color. But no option for material! And i cant find any way to contact whoever it is thats printing it for me. What do i do? I submitted the order yesterday

Ask them tomorrow.
If you really have to invest in a new one, you can always sell the house as a last resort.

But how could i contact someone if i placed my order through thingiverse?

I am

@Cristian_Martinez Use your browser history to rediscover the 3dhubs user? I don’t know how much thingiverse masks the 3dhubs site from you, but hopefully you ended up at the 3dhubs site at some point in the transaction? Once you have a handle on the 3dhubs user it should be easy to talk to him/her.

What? No email confirmation of your order? That seems odd. Maybe you got one and it is in your spam folder. I have not ordered through thingiverse or 3D hubs myself. I am simply used to email confirmations for everything ordered online.

I tried using the request a refund link and that seemed to get me through to someone but they told me they had no idea what filament was used since you dont get a choice to select filament when you place the order… oh well its supposed to arrive on the 16th. I suppose $25 isnt too bad of a loss. Ive lost over $300 on bad PCB designs lol

Hopefully, it will be an acceptable filament type. Was it a part that needed to be ABS or another temperature resistant filament. PLA used to be warned against for parts that would be used where they may get hot. I do not know if that is still the case for PLA that needs to be printed at 210C, for example. PLA has changed some in the last few years and I do not use it so I can not track those changes easily.

Hmmm…check you Thingiverse notifications? Maybe it will track the orders there.

Nah its just a simple battery case. Its gonna be inside of a piece of clothing. The case is just for added protection against bending and puncture. I would rather not catch fire lol

Well, I doubt the filament type and color matters much then unless it is a type that might snap or the battery gets too warm…which you would not like either.

Yeah it was supposed to be flexible. You know because of the cloth and all but i may be able to work with rigid

Now you have me wondering what sort of battery this is supposed to be a case for.

Lol Lithium Polymer. 500mAh. I dont mind it if its not flexible but it needs to provide good protection from drops and scratches. I mean the battery by itself has survived my little brother for a year now inside a tie. Being left on the floor stepped on. Crumpled and thrown in the corner. But the case is just added protection.

Well for anyone who is interested it seems thingiverse only prints in PLA and is limited to only 5 colors. Did not know that.

Hmmm…look up “oven cleaner pla softening” if you want it sort of rubbery. I have not tried it myself. This is just a starting point for you.

Yeah im thinking about just filing the inside a bit so the batteries fit. Its made smaller from the sides but thicker on the inside so it grips the battery. But that only works if its flexible lol
