Hey Guys,

I am Just starting with RC Cars.

May someone recommend some shock absorbers and Drive shafts (from Hobby King)?
I really Like These:

But they are available from 48.5 to 100 mm. Which length is suitable?

And which Drive shaft would fit?
I am sorry - I am quiet new to RC Cars.

I ordered the 100mm ones for my OpenRC Truggy and different springs from http://conrad.de which are stronger. The drive shafts which I ordered didn’t fit, so I modified all the parts. Nevertheless @badassdubs wrote a list of Drive shafts in the +The OpenRC Projekt Group. https://plus.google.com/107777191601482373584/posts/hAv9hkmum6q

I used the 108015 which are not long enough at the end. You better get 188015, I think that is the correct length.

Thank you very much (:

188015 works very well but you need to modify the differential output shafts, as in make them a bit shorter and deeper to accept the drive shafts. If you search here, I’ve posted some modified files. However I’m soon going upload some stronger versions which require some additional parts. I’m presently printing and testing the new axle shafts to get the design right. On the flip side, it will mean they’re now much, much stronger!

@Nigel_Nichols that’s I pretty good idea! (the pin thing) I might have to try doing something like this on my build

Yeah, I’ve had a couple of trial fitments and will be building a couple of differentials today with them to test it out. First glance though, they seem pretty promising. Just need to shorten the pins as the 1mm pins I’ve got are too long (were for another project)

I got these shafts from HobbyKing: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/front-cvd-1-10-quanum-vandal-4wd-racing-buggy-2pcs.html

I ended up having to cut a ton of plastic out of the C-Hubs and in the end they barely reached the wheels, but they appear to be about the right length. I did end up extending the differential connections and the drivetrain ended up running pretty well, even at max speed. I haven’t gotten the car moving yet because I’m waiting on shocks from Amazon, but I’m very optimistic. Even if these shafts end up causing issues, I’ll just modify the parts to fix them, as the shafts are high quality.

@TeamDogoman_Rc the pin thing is ace. Seriously. Replaced the centre differential output shafts with a slightly longer version of the design and it’s taken a real battering. So much so that the bevel gears in the diff have just stripped and a drive centre drive shaft just snapped
