Hey guys, again I have seem to run into another problem. I was trying to re-level my z-probe today and I went through the usual routine of loosening the screw and adjusting it manually till its at about 1mm above the bed. Of course this wont do the job perfectly so then you have to use Cura and the M212Z-xx to lower it my small increments. But even if I do M212Z-5mm nothing happens, it never goes down. Some one suggested that I use the M851 Z-xx command and I tried that also, but it doesn’t work no matter the increment size. Is there something I’m doing wrong? or will I have to manually find the perfect screw height.
Are you saving your m212 with m500 and then verifying with m501?
@Thomas_Cox yup
And it of course shows the set point as moving.
Next I would see if the sensor has issues by raising the head and running the g29 to see what height it wants to level at. I am interested in knowing if the probe has failed in such a way that it thinks the bed is there at all times.
Well i manually leveled it but it took forever! st least a solid 50mins to get it right
Is it an inductive probe? The one that came with my kit needs at least 10v to work, but the socket it plugged into only provided 5V. It took me far too long to figure out why my Z-axis adjustments weren’t working! (Got a refund on the probe, but now an Engineer at work showed me how to get it to work – so, in the long run, win!)
The probe itself is working, its the m212z command not chang8ng the offset
