Here is a pic of what seems to be my J-Head melting at the top right of this pic of the threaded portion you can see the shiny piece. It is melting nearly to the edge and I am guessing this is what was causing all the problems lately.
Anybody seen this before?
I’ve seen ABS create similar deposits, might not be the PEEK melting. What temperature are you using? What thermistor are you using? And what have you selected in the config?
Could you upload a photo that’s a bit more in-focus? The brass part really shouldn’t be melting since it has a melting point of at least 900°C, at which point half of your printer would be on fire.
What could be happening is that the hotend was assembled crooked and the filament was rubbing on that exact spot - how much plastic have you put through this hotend?
