Hi,
I am new in the 3D printing world. So far I have only printed stuff from makerworld with great success. I am now trying to make my own model for a small extra weeding gift to a close family member.
They was married in a small special church, so I want to make a model of that church on a platform with the name and location of the place, the date they where married and their names. I tried using Bambu studios “image to 3D model” feature and made a test print to see how it worked out. After adding supports and changed some “variable layer height” settings the print was 22 hours and was horrible.
I am hoping to find a kind person in here, who can help me make this model, so I can create this little special weeding gift.
I have uploaded a link to my Onedrive folder, where the STL file with my current model and inserted some links with pictures of the specific church.
It doesnt matter if it need to be cut in multiple parts I can glue together. As long as I can get a good looking model I will be happy.
I would like it to be as big as possible. I have a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS.

Howdy. Took a quick gander at the file. The biggest issue with it is all the thin walls on parts of the model. The railing is very thin and heavily triangulated. Not a fan of the triangulation applied on the model.
Unfortunately with AI to geometry, the model mesh is sometimes not great. Most times it is a good starting point though.

I am not fixed on the size. The most important thing is that the model/print comes out as pretty as possible. But if possible i would like the platform to be 240 x 240 mm and the model itself maybe around Ø150 mm.
Did a quick mock up of the church. Though this model is technically printable the amount of supports needed are unrealistic to me. I think a 3 part print is more reasonable.
But wanted to see you opinion on the model.
To make it more printable, parts will need to be tweaked which will make different from the real church but will require less supports.
The model look amazing! Its very easy to see its that specific church - and if it makes it easier / better I don’t mind some more tweaks. It just have to be recognizable
And it doesnt matter if its a 3, 4, 5 etc part print. The most important thing for me is it will turn out as a smooth print and idiot proof to print, so even I can print it

I have finished printing all the parts. I am very impressed with your work and design. It is spot on and very easy to see its that specific church! Once again thanks a lot
I do however have a few issues.
The small part on plate 5 is missing a hole.
The holes on plate 5 is too small for the “pillers” on plate 2 - they cant slide through.
The pillars on plate 2 is extremely fragile. I can barely Touch them without they break
I get a lot of strining (however this is probably due to my settings. I am totally Green in the 3D world, so i would not know what and how to fix it. I just printet exactly the file you made for me
Sorry about the railing part. Completely missed that. Blender is not a CAD program and boolean (cutting or adding) does not always work correctly. Recut the hole so it should have the correct holes now. lol
The pillars are in the worst print orientation for strength.
Options are:
Separate them from the main piece and print them separately.
Increase infill to add more plastic to strengthen the piece.
Parts for option 1 if you want to play with it. Only one pillar but you can copy and paste for what you need or resize. Also to change print orientation if needed.
Another thing I have some troubles with..
I want to make a base to place the church on, where I write the name & location of the church, the date they where married and their names.
I am printing on a P1S with a builing plate 256 x 256. So I will have to cut it to 4 pieces and connect them. Is this possible and with connectors, so I can snap them together instead of using glue? I think glue could be a problem.
Most slicers have the ability to cut and add alignment pins. I’ve rarely used that because I’m mostly printing geometric, mechanical models that I have designed to print easily, but when I have needed to do it I’ve just give a search to find current instructions on how to do it.
The last time I did it was almost certainly in PrusaSlicer so I’m guessing they have documentation on how to do it.
Once again thank you for your big help on this! The model is now finished and glued together. Last detail i need is to finish the platform. I am very satisfied with the result
