Hello,

The picture below is me inspired here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:42570, then I made a side-6 that I twist a height of 25 mm, I use Pro RepRap Huxley, pronterface, setting Huxley-PLA -05-03 to enable Cool (minimum layer time: 6 seconds).

Prints have ridges on the ‘connections’, the edges become as unclean, and hairy on the inside.

Can you help me? Thank you.

Regards,
Heri

The hairy inside you’re seeing is usually called “stringing” and is usually a symptom of having your extruder too hot.

Even if the temperature is correct you can still see stringing if your extruder is oozing (even a little). This can also cause the ridges you’re seeing on the connections (I’m assuming you mean where the z-layer changes). To fix oozing increase your retraction settings in your slicing software.

Thank you Stephen Baird. But I still do not get it either.

For stringing, do I have to activate the Temperature and reducing the heat?

For the z-layer changes, in Oozestep and raised numbers on the z-feed?

I guess the first question is, what are you using for slicing - skeinforge or Slic3r.

Unfortunately I’m not very familiar with skeinforge and its settings, but I do know Slic3r better and the general recommendation seems to be that it’s the better choice.

I use skeinforge,

But I also just installed Slic3r and I stopped the process until Installing the dependencies because they do not understand the process.
