Hello, I’m new at this CNC and mach3 and got problems understand the tool change. Is there a simple play rule to follow? when I am changing tools I jog the machine way from the work piece and change jog back to the pice and lower the z and press zero on the DRO. is that the correct way? I do not got a tool probe yet.
Sounds like you’re doing the right thing. Just make sure you keep your same x & y zero and reset your z axis when tool changing.
