Hello I have a Printrbot simple maker ed and I'am having a hard time

Hello I have a Printrbot simple maker ed and I’am having a hard time with printing quality.
I recently change my PLA fillament and my printing is like sorbet, the layer won’t stick .
It does not haven in every printing just the long ones
Did this happend to anyone?
Thanks!!

when i had mine, i had an issue with “stringie” prints. i resolved it with calibration. step 10/11 of this link: http://help.printrbot.com/Guide/2.+Setting+Up+Your+Auto-Leveling+Probe+and+Your+First+Print/107

Thanks!! I will try it

Yes, calibration is key to getting the printer to work properly for movement in X, Y and Z directions. Calibrating the extruder so it feeds 100mm of filament when you tell it to feed 100mm.
One other thing is temperature. When the hot end temperature is too low, then the layers will not “laminate”.
If the temperature is too high then the temperature gradient from nozzle tip up through the hot end will cause the filament to expand over too long a length of filament and clog or jam the hot end.

Thank you @Richard_Turnock the strange thing is that it only happend with long printed objects the small ones finish very well

a guess: with short objects the first layer is still hot (and slightly expanded) when you go for your second layer. on a long object, the previous layer is already cooled down. if your extruder is too high from the bed, this could mean that your second layer is not put on the first but a little bit above, and thus it wont stick to it.

Ok I got it thanks!! @Liese_De_Vos

Not down far enough when starting or extruder is too tight

This looks as if you’re not extruding nearly enough material, or else have some serious slicing issue. Also: you’re apparently not retracting.

Thank you very much !! @Van_Robbins @paul_wallich after run some calibration test I realize that extruder does not extrude the same amount of fillament between 2 different types of filaments so I release some the screw and I am printing right now, so far without any trouble
Thanks!!!

I also have a simple. My extrude motor was overheating and was not extruding properly in long prints or continuous use. It seems to be a common problem. Search for extruder motor overheating in the printrbot forum and you’ll see many suggestions. I turned the potentiameter (pot) down and it helped. Still tweaking it.

Thank you!!! @Miranda_Lam

It really looks like you need to increase your hotend temperature… This print would also benefit from a brim to help hold it to the bed.

Thank you!! @Matthew_Satterlee
