Hello Friends, yesterday i got this nice nozzle adapter in my hands.

Hello Friends,

yesterday i got this nice nozzle adapter in my hands. It’s an Samsung CP40 and i have to say, an amazing piece of work. The nozzle N045 (0.45mm) is made in plastic and the adapter in brass.

You put the noozzle only on the left side with the rubber rings, thats all and this system are airtight. The spring is in the adapater and this make the noozles very cheap ($5).

To make a automatic change with this adapter it’s very easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfw4NG-tlaw

I guess my runout Problems with the JUKI Adapater are gone, cuz i’ll use Samsung CP40 in future. I need only a delron(POM) adapter to install this on a 5mm hollow shaft.

More news coming soon, but first here the photos.

@raykholo

@Frank_Herrmann what about threading the 5mm hollow shaft on the outside diameter and just use a hex coupling threaded M5 on the inside?

I am expecting my prototypes to arrive later today. We will compare.

@Jonathan_Lussier we have a version designed for the M8 threaded shaft nema11 stepper, and if we were to get a nema8 threaded with an M5 die, that could be easily arranged as well.

@Jonathan_Lussier Hmm, if this possible? The steel from hollow shaft are very hard or? But yes, why not … good idea

Material is enough for a threaded outside::

@Frank_Herrmann instead of machining an adapter, the part you can use is an “M5 coupling nut”

@raykholo where did you find a NEMA11 with a 8mm shaft?? :slight_smile:

@Frank_Herrmann if its too hard, you may be able to heat the end of the shaft red hot first and let it cool to anneal it but you may burn your motor at the same time :wink:

@Jonathan_Lussier Robotdigg. Stepper motors page 2 - hollow nema 11 - there are 3 models on the product page one of which has an M8 threaded shaft.

thanks Ray, actually I see one of those has an M5 inner thread on the rear shaft, that means no coupling necessary :slight_smile:

Is this for a pick and place machine? You guys know what you’re talking about, but I’m lost…

@Josh_Rhodes yes

@Josh_Rhodes yes.
I’ll make a video as soon as I can.

Cool

That’s rad. I have two cp40’s and two cp45’s here at work. I even made some nozzles for them with a mini lathe

That looks pretty nice. I do still like the Juki nozzle, but this looks like a decent contender.

@Jonathan_Lussier But the inner thread on the rear shaft, do u think we can drive this stepper up side down?

Yes. Either orientation works fine. Just need a little bit of clearance for the motor cable to come out.

Hmm, and what is happend we find a M8 to M5 adapter?

But i have to say, please wait to order something, i have to measure adapter and can say it’s m5 or another thread :slight_smile:
