I haven’t kept up on the Reprap improvements since I built my Ecksbot kit a year ago, as you know alot has changed in just a year. What I want to do is take all my electronics and put them on a more rigid newer frame design. My question is what design would be a decent upgrade from my ecksbot mendel prusa variant? I’m thinking a prusa i3 would be a good upgrade, but I’m not sure if that design is outdated by something better. Any suggestions that could help me get back up to speed on this stuff?
Prusa i3 is wicked-simple to get put together, but the single-plate is lacking a good place to put things. The laser cut versions are better, adding some cross braces and additional panels to place a power supply, etc.
Ok sounds good, I think I will modify the i3 design from the original to fit the hardware I already have to save some money on parts. It’s looking more and more like a good design to start with. Thanks for the info!!
