Has anyone noticed the increase in the number of PSAs against counterfeit merchandise since the advent of home 3D printers? Is that really a issue or is it a perceived fear?
It’s a bit of both. In my opinion it will only get worse.
I think that’s a bit of a coincidence. Even in 3D printing the counterfeits are still subtractively manufactured, look at the hot ends. It’s not a market where parts can be 3D printed that are confusingly similar to the original. Machines and technologies aren’t even nearly that good or inexpensive enough for a while yet.
