Has anyone had success with using 3mm filament in the Printrbot aluminum extruder w/ the geared motor? It seems no matter how I change the temperatures, tension, speed, etc., I can’t get the drive gear to get enough of a hold on the filament to push it through the hotend (and yes, the gear is centered)
Can you disengage the idler and push the filament through by hand?
Yes, the hot end seems to be fine, i can use it without trouble on my old extruder. I think the problem that the drive gears teeth aren’t quite sharp enough
