I will try to explain this the best i can but i really dont speak '“tech” language, so here it goes.
bought gweike g1….bought lightburn……went through dowload and install process just as direction say. so far everything work as it should except for 1 issue.
my issue is this…..the actual machine bed is x:400 y:330 and using “MOVE’“arrows I can move laser all around bed smoothly. When I hit home the laser goes to top right corner as it should and park at actual x:0 y:0, while parked at x0y0 lightburn position says it is at x210 y220.
Now with that being said: when I use location (location button) to sent laser to or engrave in area bottom left corner lightburn sends laser to middle of laserbed but says laser is @ x400y330. now when i use move arrow buttont to move laser to bottom left corner of bed which is actually x400y330 lightbutn says it is at x650 y 510.
machine coordinates and lighburn coordinates are not lining up.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled….verified limits work…changed every setting multiple times. The laser burns fine and does nice work and all other settings and options work great i just can not get positions to match machine to program…..any ideas.
So when you setup LightBurn device you clicked the correct corner of the layout presented for the Home position AND you setup in LightBurn the size of your bed?
When you say you use the MOVE arrows to move around you don’t say if those are on the front panel of the machine or within LightBurn.
You’ll also want to make sure your design has a coordinate system which matches your machine or you will have to do things like flip the design or change your workspace.
Also, I remember there can be some stored workspace coordinates in some firmware which requires clearing out but it’s been so long I did that I can’t recall what they were.
the g1 requires you to use right rear,…mine is set up there.
to MOVE the laser you have to use lightburn…the g1 has no controls on board
right now i am in the startup phase….i am just burning cutting testing squares letters circles ect small stuff….i am trying to get the machine setup before i really do anything with it.
i did find a work around,the laser bed is x400 y330. to be able to use my entire bed i had to tell lightburn the bedsize is x620 y560 but by doing that i can not use any of the “lightburn area” of x210 y220 and the overlap section…..which is not bad but i now have a massive grid on the computer screen that is 2/3 unusable and out of bounds…..if i go less than x210 or less than y220 i will hit the final stops. i can make this work but i hate having new items or tools that do not work as should.
if you remember where to get into the smoothieware coords are please let me know…like i said i am way out of my league here,…lol
i am taking a class on laser engravers tomorrow (just 3 hrs) but i will take any help and learning i can get…just spent 2500 on these think i have no idea how to work…….but i will get there
