I am interested in diy projects of all sorts, but a cnc and 3d printer are tops on the list.

My only question is: Where do I start?! And I need to start basic…

For 3d printer diy projects check out reprap… though, before building a 3d printer look at the makerbot and the cubex I think… emmm… then check out thingiverse… its a opensource 3d design movement on the internet

Thx folks! I am familiar with makerbot, reprap etc but ease of build and lower cost are ideal

You’re not going to get both easy-to-build and lower-cost than either Makerbot (easy to build) or reprap (lower cost). Those are pretty much the entry points at this time.

First of all, befor you buy something watch photos and check people comments. There is a biggest forum about CNC - http://cnczone.com. There you can found a lot of information.
