Grbl1.1 Power Supply Wiring

I have been replacing the brains of my machine this last few weeks and have some issues to deal with. Visicut(what I was using) sets the S value explicitly on each G command. So I would use M3 in my init and that would set the power supply “laser fire” high.

LW4 uses grbl’s new features and only sets S on G1/2/3 and expects the controller to set S0 on G0 internally.

I have grbl1.1c with $32=1, D11 to PWM and “Spindle DIR” to “K+”

Anybody else use a similar config and know how to get grbl setup for proper 2 pin laser control?

How would you wire that?

I put a mete on D11 and it mirrors the S value no matter what M3/4 or even
G0/1/2/3 is used. Only M5 gives on/off of pwm.

1.1d does not seem to track M4 or G0. I will update to 1.1e to see if that
helps.

Settings are all correct, I can try PWM the ‘L’ pin with the power “IN” to “5V”. The grbl manual explains the M4 command but the wording of “turns off the laser” is completely vague as to exactly WHAT is turned off.

Working with:

D13 => L
D11 => PWM_IN
