“Thingies”? - Physibles? Do we have a proper name for things?

@ThantiK “Things” surely? That is, until Makerbotasys slaps a big ™ on it and tries to sue everyone for infringement

Templates?

Currently digital representation of 3d objects is basically ONLY about the shell, (the outside).

As the technology progresses I should imagine that the software dictating the design of the object will also incorporate a digital representation of the internal structure for example specifying materials in particular places to improve strength and also specifying the shape of these internal structures, the non visible shapes. Possibly digital information for specifying pick and place for components that can be added to the internal structure.

Whether this development should still keep the handle thingy I don’t know. I think it should have a more techie sounding name akin to the biological name “DNA”…
