I got a panicked call and asked if I would like a free Creality Ender 6 3D printer. A friend just purchased a new Bambu printer and his wife said he had to get rid of the old printer fast. He said I was the first he thought of because he knew I was probably the only one who could make it work! He said it takes a bit of fiddling to get a good print out of it. I’m thinking of ripping out the guts and replacing them with a clipper friendly control board. It might also be a good start for a Voron build. Still not sure how I’m going to get it past the wife!
Easy, you were out walking and the poor little thing followed you home. Who would have the heart to turn it away ![]()
Is that one a bed slinger or a cube?
It is an XY cube
Nice! A v-wheel on extrusion motion system explains the speed (or lack thereof). Most of the newer ones seem to be faster because they use linear rails. Still, damn nice for free! ![]()

My 2c: Changing it significantly is a rabbit hole that you won’t crawl out of in a hurry. I’ve been there upgrading an Ender 3 Pro. I would just tune it and add couple of upgrades. Crealities are nice printers these days and if all else fails someone may be willing to give you some money for it. Use the money to buy a Voron or a Bambu if that’s what you really want. Have fun!
I already have an x1c. I do enjoy tinkering so I will see what I can do and not really spend too much money. I appreciate your input.
