Friday brain freeze, building the i3 but they forgot to include a couple of major parts, can’t remember what you call it (wondering if it’s easy to find in a hardware shop tomorrow) the metal bits that attach to the screw motors as per pic.
If you mean the thingy with arrow pointing to it, then you are missing flanged nut, and its not sold by ordinary hardware shops. Its hard to give more info, as its specific to your i3 variant, ordinary i3 has hexagonal M5 nut at that place.
@Vaclav_Hula I noticed the other i3’s had a different part and a basic nut, lucky me got a special one with missing parts, thanks for the part name though it’ll help me track a replacement
Pom nut or Antibacklash nut?
I dont know what “pom nut” means
No offence intended to any uk residents
its just what Google gave me for the part
But if you get antibacklash thats fits in the part it wont hurt.
But definitelly I’d recommend contacting person that sold you the kit.
Yeah, somehow I don’t expect the Chinese aliexpress place would give a toss about me for the missing 10cent parts or broken frame, once they got your cash your stuck with their crap unfortunately
It looks similar to what is provided in the kit for a Printrbot Simple. It looks like a delrin Acme nut for a Z-axis.
Where did you buy this i3?
It’s certainly a bit nonstandard, but if it came with a leadscrew that is actually a very good upgrade from a normal i3.
I upgraded to it and it was a significant quality improvement.
@Oystein_Krog it’s from one of those http://aliexpress.com China sellers, they mostly all seem to sell the same kits with different logos cut into the perspex
OK I admit to being a dumbass, the screw bits were included on the motors (built-in screw rod) but looked like they were part of the rod assembly down the bottom holding the rod to the motor (brass bit), duh… Slapped my face as punishment…
Props for admitting to it:P
In all honesty I was confused for a little bit myself (exact same realization).
