Frankenbot V2. Smaller rods but super excited for the design!! This is the first revision of the bottom assembly. It’s far from done but the top section is almost ready for first cut as well. Super excited to see the final product/ see what you guys think!
Are you using plywood or mdf? I need to get something done since I got the Frankenbot kit a bit before you did, and I was holding off doing any designs, waiting for my 16 year old son to do it himself… but I’m done waiting I’m already come up with 3 different iterations… only one with metal body…
This is just a first test in mdf but the final will be plywood. Did you buy the first version with the 12mm rods or this with the 8mm?

Thanks, I’m still deciding if I’m using any wood on mine, or if I go full 3d printed parts, or metal. I’m still designing on CAD! And the one you build looks great! I’m glad your students got into it and want one also!!! The more the better!!!
Thanks!! Some of my classmates are building theirs from aluminum as well. Same design though just with 3/16in aluminum
