Followed the Pangu i3 with Melzi electronics guide exactly and after plugging it in and it kinda exploded. Caps were flying all over the place. :<
Was the power too much from the provided power supply?
The guide was not clear on some of the motor wire positions (had two connection layouts) but that should not have caused it to explode.
Now that the electronics are fried should I get Melzi again or is Mega with Arduino better?
Still intend on controlling it with Raspberry Pi B+ and Octoprint.
could it be that your heatsinks caused this? They look a bit large. Those could easily create shorts.
Electrolytic caps explode if reverse voltaged. it looks like one might have been installed backwards, or maybe not.
Check your PSU is connected up the right way around… And the right voltage… Reversed or overvoltage are the only normal ways to destroy caps like this.
Yes, the power was reversed. Got Ramps 1.4 so getting up and running again will take a while. Ramps require allot more to install.

удобная реализация, только косы проводов стоит в кабель каналы прибрать. и корпус для электроники )
