Foldable 3D printers. How long will it take for them to fit inside your pocket?

Does anyone here have one? How is stability?

There has been a first batch. The creator and some users have posted videos on youtube. I have not been able to find hi-res images of the print quality.

i3 is drastically more popular and only takes a tiny bit longer to pop into a briefcase. More popular = Better tested.

@Nick_Parker and that’s why I’m an idiot. The way I wired my i3 means that I can’t do that. You’ve just made me realize this and I’ll apparently be rewiring my i3 this weekend…

How does the i3 compare to this foldarap? I mean, the build volume, print quality, etc? I see that they’re both reprap based

i3 has a larger build volume, and print quality depends on the user.

this model is quite popular here in France but I don’t expect it to take over the world, it’s just that many people like it and are asking for one, so I’m doing a second batch ^^’

for pictures you may find some on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/foldarap/)

the build volume is 140x140x140 (155 depending how tight you squeeze your springs), it is not as big as the i3 off course, this one was made to be transported

I like the “Mendel90/i3” designs but I wanted to try other ideas, and fortunately many builds seems to show that this design is also helping to achieve a good stability/quality
