Fillets can be a pain sometimes in FreeCAD

I can’t fillet the outer edges of the thin splash shield but if I select the outer surfaces it will.
I can’t fillet the interface between the splash shield and the mount bracket. And I’ve tried filleting the corner first and then the edge of the splash shield and that didn’t work either.

UPDATE: I just went in with the weekly build and was able to add a .6mm bevel into the corner of the mountBase and the splashGuard but anything larger and the geometries won’t let me.

In general, fillets and chamfers can’t “consume” a face; this is a limitation of the underlying OCCT engine that FreeCAD is built on. I can’t tell whether that’s related to the problems you are seeing, though.

I don’t have a sense of what you are actually selecting that doesn’t work for you. Want to post more screen shots?

Ya it probably is since I’ve seen oddities of working and not working fillets related to corner geometries. What struck me here was I’d orignally thought my bathtub corner was 90 degrees and designed the splash guard at 90 degrees and all the fillets worked well. like this pic:

But when I placed a 5 layer print in place to see if I got the corner radius correct it showed to be a bit more than 90 degs. I measured 3.5mm offset and just hacked that into the sketches. But then when I went to fix up/recompute the fillets wouldn’t work.

Doh! I figured it out. I was not selecting the edge along the other fillets.

Looks like you made a splash with your design! Actually no splash.

It was something to keep me wet behind the ears in FreeCAD.
