It would be great if there was one single right answer. Unfortunately, this is not as cut and dry as a single answer or resource. Let us look at the terms that we machining guys see often and dive right in. Feed rate: This measurement is how fast one moves the tool against the workpiece. If we are on a lathe this is simply how fast we turn the tool on the workpiece per revolution.
