Exclusive introduction of Prusa i3 MK2 from #3Dexpo Prague
As promised, here is the short preview of enhanced i3 printer made by the author and designer @Josef_Prusa .
And sorry for a shaky cam, it was not so easy to find a time during interesting exhibition and conference for both of us. And as we have done a Combat of 3D printers during the exhibition this week (with the event organisers) I can say that printed models from #Prusai3 MK2 look very detailed and promising.
@funinthefalls I do not wonder as all upgrades are targeting possible weak points of previous model which I test now and which is the most widespread printer around the globe (according to 3D Hubs stats). I think Josef said that US premiere is the next week (he will be there personally). And there are also conversion kits from his original Prusa i3 Plus to MK2 to manufacture and sell to users.
I am impressed, never considered a Prusa until now … but still.
Interesting about the unevenly heated bed, corners get more heat that should be interesting…
@Florian_Ford E3D have an unevenly heated bed which launched with the BigBox. It has less heating towards the centre. Although I think a silicone heating pad beneath aluminium is the way to go.
Heated beds of MK2 are also custom made (here in the Czech Republic) and they feel very light and sturdy in hands. Previous beds were manufactured in large volumes in China for every possible i3 clone or i3 inspired printer, I wonder how long it will take to Asian engineers to clone the new bed.
