Exclusive First Unboxing and hands on review of the Ultimaker 3 by Joris Peel

this technique is awesome…

Great new printer, but way to expensive for what you get in relation to the older model. The price is not ajusted for what you get.

Its like Apple IPhone marketing. “The new most advanced Iphone!” We upgraded the camera …

And here’s Ultimaker telling reviewers they can’t publish reviews until 2017. Good job.

I hate hearing about media lockouts until a certain date, come on, give us the goods! Also way to expensive for the market they are in… Its a great printer but i fear they are going the makerbot route, vs the prusa route, which for just over $1000 bucks soon you’ll be able to get a fully assembled 4 color/material printer, so 3k/4k (almost 5k) for the ultimaker is a bit tooo much IMHO.

Basically nothing in this printer deserve the price of 4k.

  1. No close loop motors or improved precision against UM2.
    http://2.No heated chamber
  2. No dry compartment for the filaments.
    http://4.No dust and odor filter
  3. no Auto-wipe of the nozzles

Basically it will be much much more cheaper to go UM2 and to modify it with Dual Extrusion and to add Rasberry Pi + 32bit controller.
