Excellent video on small metal-working lathes

(do we need a separate “machinist” area?

Came across this video, and thought it was quite an excellent discussion of the pros and cons of small, inexpensive metal-working lathes.

Of esp. note is 27:18 which shows a cover w/ integrated heater for the machine which is a necessity for folks in unconditioned shops.

I’ve figured with Hobby-Machinist it would be dilutive to try to focus on machining here, but also I’ve been trying not to bring my own enjoyment of hobby machining to the table… I wasn’t sure how many folks would care. Most of what I’ve posted here about my machining has been in Community > Tool Crib IIRC…

Thanks!

Moved it, and will try to remember that for any future such discussions.

I don’t know that all machining content has to be in Community > Tool Crib (though this one certainly fits) — it’s just that more or less everything I’ve posted about machining has been about making tools because that’s one of my favorite things to do in the shop.
