#LaserWeb3 Dragon engraved on 18mm pine using LaserWeb3.
Played around with a bit of leather dye on the wood afterwards. Could do with watering down a lot or using a dye specifically suited for wood maybe.

Btw. Can we add airbrush support? just kidding, but it would be super cool!
@Yuusuf_Sallahuddin_Y A CNC style airbrush rig actually isn’t a bad idea. Might be a fun project.
@Carl_Fisher Yeah, I’ve been dreaming of it for a while, but I have no idea with electronics/mechanics & how to rig something like that up. Also, after giving it some thought, I imagined the airbrush would have to up & down on the z-axis on the fly also (to get different thickness of spray). Would be an amazing toy to play with & if something could be made reliable could make a great work tool.
Not to take away from the beautiful job you did on this engraving but for the air brush thing the tricky part would be the artist touch of flow control over the brush. There is so much “feel” to airbrushing that I don’t think could be easily programmed.
@Carl_Fisher Agreed on that, but digital artistry is still an art & I imagine being able to program control of the brush (up/down/angles/movement speeds/flow rate/etc) would still be an artform in itself where each person would have their own unique preferences/style.
Had this same idea about a year ago. Been working on drawings in my free time. I would rather complete and document, then share. Actual airbrush modded for paints mounted on articulated arm. Requires more than 1 processor…
@Mike_Mills1 Nice, I’d love to see it when you complete. Sounds like a good idea putting it on an articulated arm.
Will do, sir.
