Does anyone know of any roller wheels that are inexpensive and will work on

Does anyone know of any roller wheels that are inexpensive and will work on either 20mm or 15mm aluminum T slot extrusion? I have a new little design in mind that I would like to try for fun with some roller wheels but can’t justify spending the money on openbuilds wheels.

I’ve heard but cannot confirm wheels for those cabinets with the ‘delrin-like’ tires that you can get at Hime Depot work

I use these from SWM3D:

A good part of these wheels is the bearings. Good quality bearings added to a home-printed wheel would make for smooth turning, perhaps. I have an Emblaser corexy laser cutter/engraver that used home-printed belt pulleys and so many broke that they went to bearing based pulleys. I’d expect that a home-printed wheel might not have the necessary strength unless it was printed with an exotic (expensive) filament type. By that point, you might exceed the original retail version in price.

Those wheels are cheap! Cheaper than I can make them  our v-bearing wheels are more at my cost.

@Brad_Taylor did you try printing wheels?

I have and my findings is that a FDM printer cannot achieve the precision/roundness needed in most linear systems without post processing in a lathe or similar jig.

I’m not saying the idea is bad. The idea might be worth exploring for the sake of it or if a really custom wheel is needed.

I put my attempts on hold and got some polycarbonate v-wheels via Aliexpress, and they were actually of exceptional quality.

Hi Griffin,

Where are you from and how many do you need?
