Does anyone know a source for 5mm acme thread spindles or if they actually get manufactured?
If not ebay, then what part of the world are you in? If the USA, http://Mcmaster.com. If elsewhere in the world, google 5mm ACME thread spindle for your nearest supplier. The hard part of the ACME threaded rods is they are almost always machined. They need a very good machine lathe to profile and taper. Trying to find the right flange has been troublesome.
@MidnightVisions unfortunately googling that in Germany brings up results close to nothing. Same for ebay. I just realised that my request probably wasn’t specific enough. I meant 5mm diameter. A quick look at your source also doesn’t provide 5mm diameters, only 5mm pitch, but I will investigate further. Anyway thanks for your help!
“T5 lead screw” brings up a lot of options at Aliexpress. Some sellers are willing to do custom lengths too.
@Jeff_DeMaagd are they of good quality, e.g. not bent/clean cut threads?
I guess that depends on the seller. Ive done pretty well with most Ali sellers, pay attention to the feedback.
I’ve never used T5. It might also be listed as Tr5.
