I have a different port setting then you do. here is a screen shot of what works for the ARES.

I only have “AUTO” or “…USB” that 2 options available, I don’t find the one you have, so strange…

I think this is your problem… You might want to try re-establishing your Ares to the computer following the setup guide again.
