Do you feel 3D community needs an affordable, accurate, and simple-to-use 3D scanner? I can’t find any that would allow me to make an accurate (commercial grade accuracy) scan? Seems like 3D printer technology has surged ahead, while 3D scanner technology wanes. Agree?

What is currently out there on a consumer level, without considering price?

A low end quality 3D scanner might start with the NextEngine 3D - $2995, or if I wanted to trade my car in I could purchase the Creaform Handyscan 3D - $28K. When I hear consumer level I’m thinking bell-curve salary affordable. There are some models that run between those price ranges, but any price range after that I wouldn’t consider consumer level.

try the David Laserscanner: http://www.david-laserscanner.com/

Have a look at this. I backed it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I incorporated them into my recent article concerning the gap in quality consumer 3D scanners (to include a shout out to this community, so hopefully you get a few more members)
