Because using existing knitting machines, that often include detailed 3D patterns, instead of just matting wool together would be too much trouble

@Daniel_ShadowDrakken , I think you’re a bit overcritical.
Maybe, maybe not. I just don’t understand why they’re working on taking the technology backwards instead of forwards. This isn’t like a case of reinventing the wheel, they’re making an inferior product in a more difficult way.
They’re experimenting with a device that doesn’t require post-processing. And can use existing 3D design tools by people who may not have the skill set to design knitting patterns…not only that, but one that could be attached to existing 3D printers, and not be a dedicated machine in and of itself.
