Designed a new Milwaukee Packout Bin

I’ve been duplicating the Milwaukee Packout low profile and regular parts organizer bins, as well as modifying them to have more dividers (or adding dividers to ones that don’t have them).

Well, I use the small low profile organizers to hold my fastener assortment, and I ran into the issue with the fasteners smaller than #6. Basically, #4 fasteners can migrate when you pick up the case and it has a bunch of small fasteners in it.

Well, I was considering a locking lid that snapped on the bin (and I may still design it) but I decided to try to make a bin with an interlocking lid.

And so I did. These pics are of the first iteration, where I used two #2-56 SHCS for each hinge (4 total). Well, that got expensive, so I changed it to a 3/32" rod ~2.5" long and a #4-40 grub screw for each hinge.

The new hardware will be here tomorrow, so I’ll have new pictures soon. The first one is printed in PLA, but I ordered some PETG for the “real” ones.

I am really interested in this, there are quite a few times I want a better container within the Packout boxes.

Thanks! I have a few different mods for the Packout Organizers. Take a look at what I have and if there’s something you want but don’t see, let me know and we can figure out how to make it real.
