Decided to make an enclosure for my MK3. Works very well so far. Gonna test ABS tonight. Used the power off the MK3’s PSU and reduced the voltage down to 12V to power the lights.
Very nice! I might state the obvious but be sure to install a smoke detector in the room. Simply having a 3D printer is enough reason but in addition to that the IKEA Lack is far from fire retardant with its cardboard/paper inside.
Let us know how the psu holds up to the heat.
Yeah there’s a reason that Prusa’s enclosure design put the PSU outside the enclosure. It might last a long time but it would still shorten the life needlessly.
I’m not printing with ABS very often at all. If I start using high temp plastics I will move the PSU outside the enclosure.
