Cutting on a honeycomb bed questions

As discussed in my other post, I bought a honeycomb adjustable z-bed.

My question is: do people use standoffs to elevate the material above the surface so that it drops when cut or just set it straight down on the honeycomb bed?

No, the honeycomb walls are thin enough that it doesn’t matter. Just flat on the honeycomb.

Thanks for the help, Ned. I got notification that my bed shipped today from Germany. Last night I used the built in clamp to work on the Baltic Birch plywood that I have. I didn’t try to cut it but I might see if it does a better job since that would put it more in line with the focal point than laying the material on top of the stock bed.
