Currently planning a rostock type 3d printer i'm still looking for the best solution

Currently planning a rostock type 3d printer i’m still looking for the best solution to connect the rods with the extruder platform and the carriages on the side. in other words i’m looking for the best joints for this case.

What did you use there? self printed universal joints or did you buy some balljoints from igus or someone else? Would love to hear your suggestion. Still looking for the best price/value combination.

Werner Berry uses neodymium magnet balls for zero backlash joints on his Berrybot. Seems like a great idea. Here’s a a link with info and a video: http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?1,195809,page=1

i know that already but thanks for pointing out.

K&J Magnetics sells countersunk cylindrical magnets that might also work using a steel ball bearing. http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=R622CS-P&cat=173
