Current progress with the rostock “mini” - I was too impatient to wait for LM8UUs to get here (techpaladins store seems to be down), so I printed out some PLA LM8UU drop-ins. Should allow me to get working on the motors/electronics tonight. I had the 400 step/rev motors delivered Tuesday, but don’t have appropriate crimps for the ends. I’m gonna use a pair of needle nose pliers and a soldering iron to make the motor connectors.
I love these printers! What is the Z max on the desktop again?
I think my calculated Z height was something like 300mm - It gets wobbly at those heights, so I’m going to have to strap it to a wall or something though. If I would have went with a 210mmx210mm platform, Z height would have been 230mm. I think what this machine is going to be relegated to is making 300mm long printed ABS t-slot.
