If you check the link it gives all the specs. I’m basically wondering if I should run it bipoler series or bipolar parallel with 12v. My controller is the sanguinololu with step sticks.

There’s a wiring table in the PDF at that page.

Here’s a qualitative reference: http://www.astrosyn.com/shopimages/technicalguides/Guide%20to%20Stepper%20Motor%20Drive%20Selection.pdf

  • higher torque at low speed for series
  • flatter torque-speed profile for parallel.

Pick your poison.

sounds like i can use series for my extruder drive and probably parallel for my x,y,z.

The “parallel” option in the 6-wire mach motion doesn’t look to be particularly relevent/useful unless series gives you difficulty. It’s not a fully parallel configuration as could be achieved with an 8-wire stepper: http://www.linengineering.com/line/contents/stepmotors/pdf/Product_Guides/Lin_RG_StepMotorBasics.pdf

That pdf has some good info in it. I may try to get one hooked up tonight in series and see how it does.

The drivers I have are 4988’s
