Can anyone advice how expensive is to try 3d for home usage?

Thanks.
Where?
In Germany?
I should add postal expences to the price.
And what about ink cost? Or how should i call it?))))

“Home” 3D printers range from $500 as Nils mentioned all the up to $3000 for more refined models. The major difference being a balance of how technical the setup will be (the low priced ones tend to be kits) and also how much head-banging-on-wall will be involved before it starts to churn out decent prints. (But the community out there is pretty helpful so its not to hard to get help and advice along the way)

The consumable for 3D printing are plastic filaments and they range from $30+ to $60 and up per kg depending on where you get them from. Once again, there is always the price x quality tradeoff.

Depends how much you value your time. All “desktop” printers are very time consuming and require tons of fiddling and tweaking.

staples is starting a 3d printing service soon

Staples Easy 3D will launch in the Netherlands and Belgium in the first quarter of 2013, and will be rolled out to other countries shortly afterword. No word yet on pricing or when it will reach the United States.
