@Eclsnowman got me going using the SolidWorks Academic license subscription that comes with my EAA membership. I can’t use it commercially, which is fine with me; I have no desire to use it commercially. But $40/year is not bad for amateur access to one of the premier 3D CAD packages. (I just wish it ran on Linux…)
I started to pay it forward by contributing a model (in both SolidWorks and STEP formats) to grabcad for the optical endstop I’m using in my new scrap-build cantilever printer.
