Beautiful! Four-foot hanging dodecahedron lantern lit from inside with 2,000+ LEDs. Is anyone here involved in this? Looks like they’re using WS2811 strings and layers of cardboard for the separators: https://www.facebook.com/stoicheia.elements/photos/a.1321657664514070.1073741830.1245080838838420/1335142066498963/?type=3&theater Thanks to @Louis_Beaudoin1 for the link.

This is incredible!

Wondering how they did the power management? That many LEDs, even running at say quarter brightness, would effectively draw up to 30 amps. I’m guessing it has mains power running into it and the power supply inside? Even then, a monster of a thing to wire up.

I am one of the creators. There are two 60A power supplies, Minnow-max rendering 30-60fps, Teensy 3.2 pushing to ~2200 WS2811 “Pixel” LED’s. All render code is completely custom. Our group works out of http://luminalabpdx.com
