As promised in my first video I just did a Top Layer demo using an SMD circuit. Take a look here, based on the functionality in Chilipeppr I can mill SMD boards myself.

The board turned out nice. You were saying that 16mils is your trace size. That is a good trace width if you can go that big. Many times I have to go smaller. I will say I have been able to do 6mils and in some cases down to 4mils on trace width and isolation on my 3040 when using the http://precisebits.com tapered-stub end mill.

I originally had the traces at 10 mills but the accuracy just wasn’t there. Stepping up to 16 made mills difference. I imagine if I work at tweaking the settings I can get but this circuit doesn’t need it. In any case thanks to CP SMD circuits are back on the table.
