anyone tried sculpey polymer on FDM printed parts? wondering if I can use it for detailing and finishing some pieces
I know someone that uses epoxy clay on printed parts, then a primer and then paint. He does sculptures and the results are stunning.
We’ve tried Tamiya modelling putty on PLA printed pieces before it works fine. By extension, epoxy putty or other polymer putty should give the same result, but perhaps vary by the “roughness” of the cured finish.
In any of the cases, it’s probably going to be sand-sand-sand after the putty has cured.
After sanding, we topped off with a layer of spray paint and the puttied part was smooth enough to make the finish shiny. =)
