Anyone knows a software, free or open-source (ideally running on OSX, but Linux or Windoze ok) that can take an IDA-STEP file (.stp/.step) and export some selected components of it ?

Right now I can convert to STL but then it becomes all one big object.

Viewing the design in the free IDA-STEP viewer, it is composed of 4 main components.

Try Freecad… I just starting with it but it will import step files

If it’s just a one-off thing, I can shove the file through Solidworks for you.

@Thomas_Sanladerer Thanks, but a combination of FreeCAD and MeshLab seems to be doing what I need.
