Any suggestions on software for designing 3d prints?
I have been using 123d design and it seems good but I want more control. Tried fusion 360 and I am a bit lost ( feel free to suggest tutorials.)
What is everyone else using?
Primarily I want to design stuff for my photography. Flash accessories, brackets, connectors…

OpenScad might be what your looking for. You should check it out.

Well if you are a student you can get a free 3yr term with autodesk inventor. Great 3d sculpting program with tones of great tools, only downside is unless you are a student you have to pay (you can probably fake it tho:wink::wink::wink:)

Fusion 360 is good if you take the time to tinker. If you just YouTube the tutorials or get them from the help section you’ll be in good shape.

Stay with Fusion360. Try the tutorial below. It’s free

Also consider on onshape https://www.onshape.com/videos/topic/tutorials

Freecad. Free and behaves like inventor. If you dont use curves sketchup is perfect.

Thanks all, a few in here I never heard of! I am watching YouTube and and signed up for Udemys course. Will download and play with the others.

+1 for http://onshape.com

I use Solvespace a lot nowadays. It’s not as feature rich as FreeCAD but it has a great constraint solver, it has a simple and consistent interface and it’s light weight. Oh, and I almost forgot it’s open source.

Thanks! I will check that one out too. So much to do…
