Any RepRappers able to give me some insight into setting up a Prusa i3 ? What’s the favoured material for the heat bed… glass ?

I see people using everything from hairspray to
painter’s tape… hhmm ??

I am reasonably new to this but I will share my $.02. I started with Kapton tape on heated glass for ABS prints. Then I learned about Aqua firm hair spray. It’s amazing. Spray once and print for days. No need to reapply tape and nothing to scratch up.

Brims, brims, brims. :smiley: I use brims to keep my parts down on heated glass, for the really funky parts I use a very very thin layer of abs juice. But most of the time the brims do the job. If they still warp a little make a bigger brim.

Do you use brims alone or you activate also the hot-bed ? And if yes, what temperature ?

With a heated bed, abs if I remember on mine works good at 220-210, PLA is around 60-80 (85 if I have a fan on 70mm 12v.)
